The Petzl ASAP LOCK is a premium mobile fall-arrest device designed for rope access professionals and anyone performing work at height. It trails smoothly along the rope without manual intervention and instantly locks in the event of a fall or uncontrolled descent exceeding two metres per second. With an integrated LOCK function and a drop-resistant connection arm, the ASAP LOCK offers superior safety, control and ease of use in demanding work environments.

Automatic Trailing for Smooth Rope Movement

The device follows the user automatically as they move, eliminating the need to manually adjust it on the rope. It functions reliably on:

• Vertical lines
• Angled lines
• Horizontal ropes

The toothed wheel ensures dependable performance even on muddy, icy or dirty ropes.

Instant Activation in a Fall

If a fall or rapid descent occurs, the device immediately clamps onto the rope. The ASAP LOCK will also engage even if it is grabbed during the fall—an important real-world safety feature.

Integrated LOCK Function for Safer Positioning

The LOCK function allows the user to immobilise the device on the rope to:

• Reduce potential fall distance
• Prevent the rope from being blown upward in windy conditions
• Improve positioning accuracy

This makes the ASAP LOCK excellent for stable work positioning on exposed structures.

Drop-Resistant Connection Arm

The integrated connection arm ensures the device remains attached, preventing accidental drops. This feature also makes passing intermediate anchors smoother and safer.

Compatible with ASAP’Sorber Energy Absorbers

Choose the correct absorber depending on your application:

• ASAP’Sorber 20/40 – for users up to 140 kg, choose distance from rope
• ASAP’Sorber AXESS – for two-person rescue loads up to 250 kg

These absorbers protect rope integrity and reduce fall impact forces.

Easy Installation and Removal

The ASAP LOCK can be installed or removed at any point along the rope, thanks to its practical safety catches and glove-friendly design. It can be used as:

• A primary fall-arrest device
• A back-up belay device in rope access systems

Pre-assembled kits are also available with connectors and energy absorbers.
