Automatic Mobile Fall-Arrester for Work at Height

The Petzl ASAP is a highly reliable mobile fall-arrest device designed for rope access technicians, arborists and anyone working at height. It trails freely along the rope without manual operation, providing continuous fall protection. If a fall, slip or uncontrolled descent faster than 2 m/s occurs, the device immediately locks onto the rope to stop the fall safely.

Hands-Free Rope Movement

The ASAP moves smoothly up and down the rope on its own, eliminating the need for manual handling. It works effectively on vertical, angled and horizontal ropes, following the user naturally during work positioning and access.

Instant Fall Arrest

The blocking mechanism activates automatically if the user falls or descends too quickly. It even locks when grabbed during a fall, ensuring reliable fall-arrest performance in real-world conditions. The toothed wheel design also performs well on frozen, wet or dirty ropes.

Compatible with ASAP’Sorber Energy Absorbers

Pair the device with the energy absorber that best suits your work environment:

• ASAP’Sorber 20 – reduces potential fall distance
• ASAP’Sorber 40 – keeps the rope further away to free workspace
• ASAP’Sorber AXESS – allows rescue loads up to 250 kg

These absorbers help protect the rope during work phases and lower impact forces in the event of a fall.

Easy Installation and Use

The device installs or removes easily at any point on the rope and remains simple to operate while wearing gloves. It can be used as a primary fall-arrest system or as a back-up belay in rope access setups. Pre-assembled kits are also available with compatible absorbers and connectors.
