Technical Fabrication and Weather Resistance

This jacket uses a 320 gsm 3-layer bonded fabric composed of a 93% polyester and 7% elastane outer layer, a waterproof TPU membrane rated 8000 mm, breathable at 1000 g/m², and a 100% polyester microfleece inner layer. The material is highly water-resistant, though it does not use taped seams. Additional weather-proofing comes via a high collar, storm flaps and thumb-hole inner cuffs that seal out wind and rain. Under-arm zip vents allow airflow when the work heats up, whilst the dovetail back prevents water from running into trousers when bending or reaching.

Bear Valley added Cordura fabric on the forearms for abrasion and snag resistance, making the jacket tough enough for the rigours of rigging, climbing and harvesting. The high-set pockets remain usable while wearing a climbing harness and the adjustable hook-and-loop wrist closures secure the fit while using gloves or wrist gear.
