The SpiderJack 2.1 Basic is a multifunctional, self-blocking rope control device which offers the user extremely smooth rope passage, even when under load.
No conversion is required when alternating between ascent and descent or for single-handed shortening without the slack rope, making the Spiderjack 2.1 extremely easy to operate.
Unlike the LockJack, the SpiderJack also does not require the clutch to be changed when using different diameter ropes.
As soon as the line is pulled from the device it turns from blocking to a running position, allowing for two-handed as well as single-handed descents or the adjustment of work positioning even when there is little rope weight below to speed up the rope run.
The longer, ergonomically designed release lever of the SpiderJack ensures that the climber’s hands are not affected by rope friction, by featuring a groove on its inner side giving a redirection of the rope. The thumb break allows the user to have complete control of movement, by giving the user precise control of the rope no matter the speed (with some practice).
